It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert D. Béchard, at the age of 70, after a short illness at WRH- Ouellette Campus. Beloved husband of Pauline (née Lafrenière) for 51 years. Loving father of Michael (Joyce), CPL. John Marc (1993), Armand (Jacki). Proud Pepère to Jannessa and Brandon. Brother to Edward (1982, Angela), Jim (2006, Muriel), Rosemarie Marentette, Remi (2010), John (Patti 1996). Brother-in-law of Armand and Therese Lafrenière, Richard (Sharon 2001), Rita (Placido) Lavalle and Henry (Evelyn). Son of Leo (1994) and Angela (2001). Son-in-law of Alfred (2001) and Marguerite (1996). Will be missed by many nephews and nieces, friends and brother Knights. Retired from Ford Motor Company after 38 and a half years of service. He is remembered as an avid hockey fan and golf enthusiast.
Friends will be received at Melady Funeral Home (226-773-7670) on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will also be held at St. Simon and St. Jude Parish (488 St. Charles St, Belle River) on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 10-11 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial at St. Joachim Cemetery (County Road 42, St. Joachim).
A special thank you to the ICU staff of WRH-Ouellette Campus, especially Dr. Malus. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joachim Cemetery and Ontario Lung Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
